These shoes are great! Having very high arches, plus the added challenge of slight arthritis in one foot, I frequently struggle with pain in the balls of my feet, even in many brands of athletic shoes. The cushioning in these shoes is phenomenal. Bought these for my vacation where I did a good deal of walking, and I have been completely satisfied. I balked initially at the price tag, but feel now it was well worth the investment as foot pain is now negligible--on many days, gone altogether. I had tried MBTs previously, hoping to distribute weight off the front of my foot, but the Nike Air Max+ 2009 beats the MBT shoe hands down. And they look terrific. Also helpful was learning a new way to lace my shoes to reduce pressure on my arches.
